We have a 1952 Wayne Ford short bus, 12 passenger, just got her running!!!!! We seriously need some information on rewiring.
Any one out there with any knowlege of this outstanding little bus? After owning it for Eight years we have never seen another like it untill seeing the pics on this website of the lime green one.
We are looking for info, any info, such as how to read the vin, and whether or not it is a one ton or ton and a half? It says F 4 on the side. We put a flat head v8 from a 1949 F 4 in it, all parts fit. PS..
we also need directions to Woodstock :ermm: did we miss it yet?
PSS...
We have some great pics just not sure how to send them.
Bus is not for sale but would love to show her off.

The Wiring would be the same as any other 52 Ford truck. Here is a link to one on another site. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/915773-wiring-diagram-1951-f-1-a.html or if you can find a shop manual for 1950 thru 1955 Ford trucks.

The wigwag lights and may be the heater fans will be the only exception

I hope this helps

Thanks so much JD,
we want to get as much hooked up, like brake lights, : ) before we enter her in the Surviver class at the car show in June. The site you suggested was very helpful.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get some photos up but I'm not much for computers and new fangled cameras.
We are hoping to drive from Montana to Minnisota next June for our daughters wedding, she's actually getting married to a dude named Hippe! Thought it would be a nice touch lol,
so we might be tapping your brain some more,,thanks again for the info

regards,
Neil Young

We were also wondering,,,,
is this bus really this rare? We have owned it for 8 years and in searching for it on the internet have found nothing about them. according to the vin it was built in Highland Park MI but since that plant has closed we can find zero info on this year or model.
We plan on replaceing the 6 volt battery and wiring with 12 volt, wonder if this will change the diagram at all? What all would I need to do to make the change over? I also have a 56 Shasta camper trailer that I am trying rebuild and need window frames, and possibaly an inside diagram for cabnitry.
It looks sooooo cool behind the bus!! With the same rounded lines, can't wait to take it down the road.
Thanks,
NY

My Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I have been very busy.

The wiring diagram will be 12v. I would highly suggest purchasing an aftermarket wiring harness from EZ-wiring, Painless or Ron Francis. Replace all of the wires. Insulation breaks down over time and can short out your system. Cheap insurance. Gromets on all rub points. If you are planning on towing something, you heed to run your wiring a couple of sizes bigger to the back of your bus to compensate for the extra amp draw and long run. As to the rarity of your bus I can't help sorry. I'm like you a newbie to buses. Good Luck

Hello,

Sorry for the slow reply. I would be glad to post pictures of your bus on this website if you email them to george@oldbus.us The bigger the pictures, the better. I can reduce them, as needed.

Thanks!
