Chassis:

I used the original frame on the cool bus it was a 1938 Chevy, we widened the front fenders 4 inches so the 3/4 ton Chevy truck front end would fit without cutting it. we put a Dodge motor home rear end under the back we used the old springs minus a few leafs.

The front end was a 1985 Chevy 3/4 ton truck, the rear end was a 1989 dodge motor home pos trac.

Engine

The engine was a 1998 fuel injected LT1 out of a 1998 trans am Pontiac. Trans was a 1993 700 R out of a Cadillac.

Interior:

It had reupholstered 1988 astro van seats. Darlene and I did the upholstery we used 40 yards of material.

Wheels:

the rear had one ton dual wheels the front had 3/4 ton truck wheels.

Experiences:

I drove the bus about 20,000 miles we drove it to California in 2001 we where gone for 35 days and drove 5,200 miles we had a blast. at the time I started on the bus I hadn't seen any buses done but before I got mine done there were a couple of them before me. when I started looking I did know it was so hard to find a short bus. I think this one I am about to start on will be my best yet. I have learned a lot from the other ones I've done.
